  • STAND STILL, LADDIE!!!

Oh, uh... not where you were going with that?
  • It's where my head went.

If you don't eat your meat, how can you have any pudding!?

So THAT's what the guy is saying.  He says it so off-rhythm - forget the British accent.  One mystery cleared up after many years.

Pink Floyd, though, was SO much better before they got all deep and dark and depressing thanks to Waters.

    Does not compute.
  • Ban terreneous.

No. First horsewhip him. THEN ban him.
  • OK, I've been listening to Floyd since the mid-70s.  HUGE fan.  Used to just LOVE The Wall.  But over time I've become more of a fan of their earlier stuff.  They weren't all "ooh wow" and "deep" and psychologically addicted to Syd Barrett.

Or, to put it another way, HEY ROGER WATERS!  He's DEAD.  He OD'd on LSD.  GET OVER IT.

  • Wait...
You can't die from an LSD overdose. What are you talking about?
  • Essentially, he did, "Like black holes in the sky."

Shine on You Crazy Diamond was where it should have stopped.
  • As a huge Floyd fan, The Wall is my least favorite album.

There is no dark side in the moon, really. Matter of fact, it's all dark.

I guess Bird never listened to that song.

  • It always came on after my bedtime.
  • This is the type of album that makes you go out and spend $40k on a stereo just to hear how wonderful it is.
  • Obin, is that you?
  • Heh.  I have never owned a single Porsche, so no!

Put it on your bucket list.  I've owned some pretty nice cars, but my '86 3.2L 911 remains in a class by itself.

Even as ancient is it is today, I'd have another in  a heartbeat!

The problem is, Unka, is that I grew up with and learned to do auto mechanics on
aircooled VWs, and ABSOLUTELY HATE THEM.

Unbalanced crankshaft, good for max 60k miles, difficult to work on, especially
when you're trying to do it all by yourself.  Always being afraid of stripping the
damn spark plugs, timing never lined up right, and absolute rust buckets.

Maybe had I lived in California with no rust and someone to teach me, it would've
    been different.

My 84 Rabbit was so dead simple, everything easy to get to and laid out, and
    the sucker never, ever rusted.

So, when I hear an air-cooled Porsche, it brings back bad memories.
    Glorified VW is right.

Wow, really? What do you have in mind?

That is what my Grandma drove. Remember how she had to floor it to get up hills. In Zanesville...
